So, can anyone who has been before give me any advice on must do's for next weeks trip?

For the 24, you could have things like drivers parade, great british welcome etc.

Thanks.

May I suggest that some people try to stop up and watch the races during the night. By about 10pm in 2006 the grandstands were empty, the village almost shut down and tumble-weed getting ready to roll.

To travel such a long way for a club meet / BBQ / hotel room and miss the real spectacle seems such a waste!

You could say the same thing about the 24hr. We went out about midnight and by 4am the Village was really quiet with only the Grand Marnier stand open. I might try and have an early night Saturday, to get up before light and watch the sunrise at the Dunlop Bridge.

Fine by me Phil ... to me that is probably THE defining experiences at Le Mans.

This was taken at about 05.30 in 2007 from a very empty Tribune 15 I seem to recall.

Arnage, anytime from 11pm onwards... Especially try to catch Grid 3 (I think) with the DBR1 Aston and D Type Jags, seeing them drift through Indianapolis and Arngae is awesome. Also, Grid 6 with the 935 Porchs and BMW M1 spitting out 6' diamter, 10' long flame balls and glowing disks/turbos make the hair on your neck stand up...

No, but you may have the old address - simply change "bcmb" to "tomchambers" smile

Not sure Stewart. To be honest, i am tagging along with the two Vettes on the kind invitation of Phil so will be playing it by ear.

I would quite like to do a bit of exploring, not least to visit some "off-circuit" camp sites for future reference ... but quite happy to pootle rather than full on wake the cows up pedal to the metal stuff!

Got to say ... I am really REALLY looking forward to this, much more so than I do for the 24 yes

Just need to track down some paddock passes/parade laps/infield parking now!

Nice photo, not sure about the love in at 5am though !!!!!!!!
Vette see you on MB.

By the way the cobras are hoping to have a run out and around Thurs evening if anyone fancies joining in.

Friday is scrutineering in the town centre so I would imagine a fair few people heading there for a while as well as the paddocks.

Can't help on the parade laps/ infield parking and have no spare paddock passes but if you see Del or me wandering around, you should be ok to borrow our paddock passes

I am sure that I read that Scrutineering is at the track? I would like to know as we will be coming through the City on Friday and I will stop if it's there.

SIX more sleeps and a dental appointment to wait now ... I AM ALL EXCITED bounce

Afraid I'm now in Karting Nord. I got itchy feet with the ACO so bought KN tickets online about 2 days before getting the MB allocation. I sold the tickets to a lad on Club Arnage called Martin.

Will keep an eye out for you all though!

As the organiser for the cobra club I recvd along with our tickets last weekend, the schedule, which states that scrutineering is at the track and Le Mans town centre on Friday from memory 08.30 - 16.00 but dont quote me on the times as I'm in the office and the sheet is at home.

Sounds like the Legends stuffs from the 24hr. We were chatting to a British guy in a March (number 84 I think) and they got scrutineered at the track, only the big dogs got done in the town centre. Guess it's a matter of need and logistics for some teams.

Okay, so we have a choice ... I guess parking in City Centre will be a pain? Yeah, daft question... sorry!
