Tuscan Exhaust Cans

I don't own a Tuscan unfortunately 
(or ANY TVR for that matter
......YET !), anyway I first experienced a Tuscan in the fibreglass at the Backhome weekend last year, WHAT a car! and WHAT a sound, one enthusiastic ( very LUCKY ) owner ( assuming he WAS the owner!! ) made a very spirited departure from the De Vere Hotel, what a sound!!! Enough to make Al Melling, John Ravenscroft and Peter Wheeler be classed as Great Composers in my opinion. Anyway what I am getting at is whether the carbon fibre exhaust end cans are easily removable, if they are anything like my mates bike they just slip over the pipe and have spring clips or a clamp. Do they actually do much silencing? I know they look sexy but I am intrigued to know what affect it would make on the sound if they were replaced with a plain piece of pipe so as to be like Cerby / Griff / Chimaera ? Has anybody done this ?

lots of owners have done it (so I've heard 
). You'd be surprised how much difference it makes just covering up those perforations on the inside of the cans.
The best bit is definitely the pops and bangs on the overun (and occassionaly when changing gear). What I'm not quite sure of is if these sleeves increase the popping and banging or if you just hear it better - anyway it's all good clean fun.
And yes it only takes 2 minutes to remove each can....
