Last night i did a bit of shopping in Harrods, walking out i saw a matt black ferrari 599, matt black Lambo Murci Spyder with BRIGHT pink interior followed on the next corner a matt black maclaren SLR.

Admitidly they diod look amazing, but why have they become so popular? do people actually like the matt black finish? i also though matt black was more of "fiesta finish"

I've seen the matt Black SLR with Red rims looked very nice. Must be a bh to clean as you'd be scrubbing away to get a shine that's not achieveable. Also some idiot will say "ergh, they forgot to finish painting it".

Are you sure these cars are actually painted and not just wrapped.

Evo recently tested a Brabus Merc that was matt black - it was also wrapped.

Funnily enough I was there last night and saw the exact same cars. I think the 612 is 'Hamann' or something like that.
So many cars around there with middle-eastern number plates.

matt black looks crap ..... like this carbon everything trand at the moment.... it makes it look as if the car has been in an accident and it is in the middle of being painted.

Fashion followers are just sheep.
And bad fashion is sheep to the slaughter.

The matt carbon Supra looks poo, but a naked gloss carbon Zonda or Koeniggsegg?

Yum.

Have to admit, I do quite like the matt-black look on some cars!

I don't know about 6 months, I saw a matt black 550LM on the way to Le Mans in 2005 and even then it looked gorgeous.

It's not just matt black that is currently in-vogue. It's matt gold too

I must admit that Ferrari looks quite nice, but no, matt black cars remind me of this

No, but that sounds like a good idea on a black bike.
