Fuel breather nozzle needed.
Discussion
Wondering if anyone can suggest a supplier for an item I need.
In the fuel filler neck there should be a breather tube entry so that whilst filling the tank the air can escape out of the petrol tank.
The chap who built my car never got this plumbed up, so consequently I can never have a full tank. There is a take-off on the fuel tank which has a closed off stub of hose on it to seal it up so that end is fine. The problem is what I do up at the filler cap end.
There is currently a brass grommit thing in the neck which is sealed off with some sort of black gunge. I don't see how I can easily attach a nozzle onto that so that I can run the breather fuel hose down to the tank.
My current plan is to get hold of a brass fuel pipe nozzle, cut it up and remove the brass grommit in the fuel filler neck to solder the two together. Seems a faff and there must be a better way.
Any ideas?
