How do you remove the boot panel....

That holds the boot actuator?.The rod coming from the actuator to the lock mechanism has snapped.I want to remove to get to it,but dont want to break anything?.

Not sure if there's any panel to remove. I've only ever worked on the latch through the interior light hole.

When I have done it, I have just pulled back the carpet and have found enough access.
