HSV Alarm - Thatcham Approval

Hi all

Apologies if this has already been subject of conversation before but I have just purchased a HSV GTS-R and was wondering how you guys have gone about satisfying your insurance companies with an alarm that is Thatcham approved. Is the standard good enough or do I need to fit something??

It's a question for your Insurer. The Monaro one is not Thatcham approved but not all Insurers require that level of approval. If they do, you'll need to get a secondary system fitted - some guys on here have done this. I'm with A Plan and they don't mind.

Our insurance company would'nt touch our CV8 without a Tracker. Its peace of mind also. Just get one fitted and your insurance company will be pleased with that

I had an immobiliser fitted when I got my GTS-R. Got it fitted at home, AMS do a mobile fitting service. Search 'AMS car Alarms' for info.
What number "R" did yo get?.

Hey thanks for your replies guys very helpful. As my GTS-R is a bit special being UK001 of two in the UK, it looks like Tracker may be the way to go....

stunning looking car saw it for sale in classifieds. adrian flux accepted the hsv immobiliser as ok on mine

Thanks Mike. I have been looking for the right HSV for about 5 years now and I have definately found it. Everytime I go outside I have to stop and stare at her - what a car.
