Having fallen for the 5 year free mechanic trick when selling my 350i to Cadster http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

We have set about a full suspension rebuild & brake upgrade.

Replacing all the bushes with poly or nylon as we go. The diff is out (makes working on the brakes a doddle). We have replaced the large front pivot arm bushes tightening the pivot pins to the bush.

Can anyone advise on the set up procedure to obtain the correct clearance between the washers around the swinging arm to allow it to pivot on the pin.
The Wedge Bible does not go into this detail, dispite reading through it serveral time readit

Thank you

Mr Tank

Hi

Would be interested in any reply to this one, as I am shortly replacing the rear end on No 1. I have obivously noted how it came apart etc, but it would be nice to hear what people recomend when resetting it all. Ref the "Bible" Steve doesn't cover the early 350i well, but that is not a surprise as he can't cover every change in the "Wedges" and there certainly were some changes in the early 350i !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
