Morning all

I'm after a sat nav unit with bluetooth as I've no hands free in my car. Has anyone got any experience of this - what is the sound like and have the people you are talking to commented on the quality of the call?

Can you also let me know what make and model you have - there are so many to choose from and to be honest I've no idea what I'm looking at. Budget is up to £150.

Thanks

I've never had had anyone say how good the clarity is, but by the same token, I've never had anyone complain that they couldn't understand what I was saying.

I've used a Garmin 360 and Garmin 760 and had no problems with either. I have no reason to believe that the Tom Tom equivalents aren't just as good.

Just did a search on the net for the 360 so please forgive the stupid question. Some 360's have a T after the model number - does that refer to Traffic updates?

I believe so. I've just got a standard 360 with no traffic, though it can be added retrospectively if I could be bothered.

Tom Tom One is sold as having Bluetooth - which is absolutely true, but only for traffic updates.

Well, went to Halfords this evening to see what they had. The bloke recommended the 760 which was £230 but as I need two (me and the wife) I declined, he didn't have the 360. Will look at amazon for them.

Car Audio Security have a Garmin 610 & 310 (both refurbished) for £120 which seems like a good deal. They also sell a Sony unit for £110.

Can't make up my mind!

I use my Garmin 760 as a BT hands free.

Perfectly useable but quality not great.

I use it for long journeys where the convenience to make or receive the occasional call is very handy and makes the average quality forgiveable.

If I had to use my phone in my car regularly it would drive me nuts and I'd have to get a proper dedicated car bluetooth phone thingy.
