I want to spray the rim of a wire wheel which is a slightly metallic grey colour and thought I'd go into Halfords for a browse only to find that the old fashioned Duplicolour spray paints are now sold a complex 2 or 3 part multi spray system of colour and lacquer all designed to make you spend more! So, can I still go somewhere to buy a simply spray can? Basically I want to look to see what colour best matches the rim of the wheel smile

Thing is that it's not a current colour I want to match more a case of rummaging through all the colours to see if there is one that's close and eBay isn't any good for that...

Our local motor factor still had theirs, as of 10 o'clock this morning smile Same rack they've had since the year dot, with individual cans arranged by colour and marque.

Surely the system using lacquer is for modern paints which have clearcoat, rather than the old single-stage paints you are probably more used to?

Yep...
So it's not designed to get you to spend more, as per your original post...
