it seems my beloved 98 chim 400 has a very rotten chassis. So i need help. It is my only car and is due to come with me to with me to germany in two weeks. Any advice? Is a new chassis essential or is it best to get a second hand one. Is a rolling chassis much better? How much am i looking at to buy one? How long will replacement take? Finally does anyone have one for sale? Many thanks.

Which parts of the chasis are rotten. If its just the outriggers then these can be replaced / repaired without taking the body off.

Sportmotive had a brand new chassis on view at ROAR 08 and it was around £4000.

To do the outriggers you still need to raise the body, and its probably them only that need doing.Parts are cheap its the labour, reckon all in about £2000ish

Give Offords a call, they shouldn't be a million miles away from you. They have done a number of rusty chassis repairs in the last few months.
