Silverstone 18th/19th July
Discussion
Looking forward to it. Wouldn`t mind a bit of rain if we could choose. A bit of a power circuit so not our strongest track, wet race would even things up nicely
Either way we will be there plodding on as usual. I presume we`re on the international circuit and using Bridge.

Alternatively just turn up on the day, hand over your 12 quid and enjoy the day's racing!
Timetable is here.
I hope that the Class 1 results got resolved and there wasn't too much arguing... It looks like the McInerney's got a heavy penalty.
However, Class 2 was a fantastic race. It was full on from the start. During the first hour, I had no respite at all. It was attacking &/or defending for the whole stint. It was a solid hour's sprint racing.
Henry made a small mistake just as the safety car was due to appear
(light the blue touch paper and wait for him or Bellly to reply!) and we were through. We managed to take the class lead after the first round of pit stops and Leigh was looking strong. The second safety car appeared 45 minutes into the middle stint. We took advantage and made our second mandatory stop, and Craig Wilkins jumped in. Luck was with us and we weren't held up at the pit lane exit during the safety car period.
With 45 minutes to go, the tension mounted. Rod's car was catching us by at least 2 seconds a lap, and passed us 20 minutes or so from the end. Then the Topcats car was quickly onto us. With 10 minutes left, Craig was fending off the Marcos and did an excellent job of retaking our position, having briefly lost it.
Then the last lap drama...The Marcos tried to go around us on the outside of Copse and, both drivers trying a bit too hard,
. The Ginetta was able to get back on the circuit while the Marcos had to get the bucket & spade out, allowing the Firman/Bell car through.
You have to hand it to JT. 4 cars, all finishing within a lap of each other after 3 hours. Spa was close, but this was even tighter. Class 2 is definitely where the excitement and drama is. The best thing is, it's also where many of the good guys are and, Jaz & Topcats quickly acknowledged our superiority after the race
.
A big thank you from us to Ginetta. We have had great support from the factory and especially this weekend from Lawrence, Richard and the team, who have done a great job in making the car competitive. Also, congrats to them for winning the overall Class 2 race as an invitation team.
I can't wait for the 24 hour. Mind you, let's see what happens at Snet...

Oh kevin you are indeed a funny man.
A busy start working through traffic nice and carefully (3 hours to go), safety car deployed to retrieve the damaged Porsche and Jaguar from Becketts. I suspected we would be seeing it as we passed the carnage and sure enough the flags went out as we went through bridge. The cars closed up and Kevin went past at Luffield under waved yellows and a safety car board (there was also a white 430 Ferrari that just drove round everyone from Priory to Luffield as well). I actually pulled over and let him through thinking that'll be handy as they serve their drive through penalty. Luckily he got away with it despite a pre-race briefing that told us overtaking under yellows would not only be policed with an iron rod but also dealt with severely as this was Britcar`s "test" to see if it could handle international meetings. In the end I re-took the place under racing when the doddery old git ran his Ginetta wide at abbey

Great racing, pulled away from Jemco and the rest of the class 2 field bar Rod, Jan and Jay but could see everyone in the background so never a chance to relax. The Marcos went past but there was quite a large variation in driver times so we`d have to see what happened after their drivers swapped over.
At the one hour mark teams started to do their driver changes, I stayed out as I was doing a 90 minute stint. Started to catch up the Marcos and Ginetta getting ready to put a lap on them just prior to our driver change. Handed over to Steve and a bit surprised to see Jemco in the lead. As Kevin says we saw them being waved out of the pit exit under a safety car / pit lane exit red. Teams should have been held at the end of the pit lane until the safety car chain passed the pit exit allowing them to join the end of the line. As it is the cars let out early were in effect given a free lap, (again this was supposed to be Britcar`s finest hour as they were tested to see if they were fit for an international licence!!).
All that said the Jemco boys drove a blinder. Luck was on their side but you have to be on the pace to take advantage and the team have definitely upped their game, I think they've found a couple of seconds a lap from somewhere.
Craig had a belter of a race with the Top Cat Marcos with 15 minutes to go which he eventually won. Both cars spun during the clash and at one stage we thought we might come through to finish 2nd, in the end it was the Marcos that lost out allowing us to finish 3rd.
After 3 hours there were 4 cars within a few seconds of each other - amazing.
This was never going to be our strongest showing as we lack ultimate power and drive out of the corners but we were happy to come away with a pot.
Well done to Rod, Jan and Jay. It's now confirmed that Rod and Jan will be our driving partners for the 24 hour race.
The last word must surely go to Craig "your name's not down, you're not coming through" Wilkins.
You're a star
Well done lads

I just want to say thanks to Britcar for a wonderful Spectators event. I enjoyed watching the battles through all the classes and the class 2 battle near the end was great to watch from where I was standing in the stadium section as the Ginetta and Marcos would switch positions through each corner on the last laps. It was a shame that the Trackpower TVR and the Topcats GT3 Marcos weren’t out in the race as I reckon they would have given the Moslers a good challenge as the class one battle seemed too open too me as the Ferraris and Porsches didn't stand a chance even with the Moslers making extra pit-stops etc. But a brilliant race to watch and off cause with Britcar got to have a wonder through the pits before the race and look at the cars, and the new invitation cars adding to the varied grid which is what I love about Britcar. Bring on the 24hours!!!
What a race that turned out to be! Drama for us at the start with the Marcos shedding a drive flange on the way to the collecting area, a manic push back to the garage to attempt a repair and then to top it all a start from the pitlane... This was without doubt one of the best races we've been in for quite some time. The story of the race has been documented by both Jemco and Henry, all i would like to add is this, a big thanks to those we raced against in class 2, it was clean, exciting and great to be part of, thanks guys. Keith, Topcats.
Must agree with all the comments, what a great race for even up until the last lap it was an unknown quantity. I think most of you thought we had it in the bag, what you didn't know was that we were running on fumes and desperately trying to avoid a splash and dash
We only have a 90 Ltr tank and basically only drained an egg cup full out of it after the race, which amounted to about 20 secs to spare so without the SC interventions we would not have made it !!!
Well done to all our competitors, the Marcos is a very real threat to the 996's when it's on song, and now we have the G50's coming of age and really giving us a hard time. Above all, the racing was fair, and the pit lane and interaction between the various class two teams made it an occasion to be proud of, a truly great sporting event.
To Snetterton then Gentlemen
As Henry mentioned, the Hawthorns Motorsport/ Neil Garner performance engineering teams and the Virgin 911/Jaz Motorsport teams will be joining forces for the 24hr race. I will have further news later this week on the final 2 drivers that will make up the full team, they have been selected and will make us a truly formidable team, driver wise, now all I need do is rebuild the car !!!!!

Nice to see the real potential of the G50 on Saturday. Class 2 is what endurance racing should be about, I'm very envious of you all having what apears to be a balanced competition. I think it was Piers in the pale blue and white 996 in the last hour but it was really pushing to make up ground from well down which was great to see.
Class 1 was more a farce then ever which made our descsion not get the car rebuilt even more justified. Really sorry for the Kinfaun boys and the Jaguar who must been driving the cars to witin an inch of thier lives to get anywhere near the cruising times of a Mosler and then to end up with so much damage... a real shame.
Lets hope you class 2 boys can all run each other that close over 24hrs and then it will be a classic.
