I have the same view, but am open to being swayed by sound logical pro[b[]Chimp[/b] views.

The real question is, are there any?

The only thing would possibly be roof storage, that can easily be sorted with a 2 piece roof
Even if that wasn't the case the looks alone outway the roof storage anyway

Chimaera without a second thought and of any engine size. Far more user-friendly and less lary/leery. Altogether much more sorted and thought-out.
First there was the Gruff, then they got it right with the Chimaera!
OK. What is more user friendly?First there was the Gruff, then they got it right with the Chimaera!

A few years ago I wouldn't give a Chimp a second look but as I'm a little older the more retro looks of the Chimp have gained more of an appeal. I still can't stand the rear end, but I would say that the front is better than the Griffs.

OK. So, if you were starting from the ground up with a new Tiv, would you go for a Griff or a Chimp and for what reasons?
Neither, start with the Tuscan 2 and Sagaris, sort the engine out, and offer an european sourced crate engine as a base model. I have had one of the last Griffith for over 5 years, so it would now be time to move on, and expecially move on from the Griffith or the other one debate. Anyway we'll hear tomorrow what TVR is actually planning.Behave children.
We obviously know as a given that we all fall into one of two groups and that you are not permitted to be in both.
We also know that regardless of which group you are in, you are obviously 100% correct.
What I'm looking for is genuine and logical reasons for your belief (even if you are so wrong it's embarrasing)
There is real logic behind me doing this.

Plus, most work can be done by local mechanic in parts of the world where you are unlikely to find a TVR specialist.

Logical?

OK, here goes...
Apart from the pre-cats which are one step lower down the development ladder from the Chimaera and Griff 500 overall, you can only get the Griff with erm, a 500 engine. And I'm afraid that lump was just taking the RV8 a step too far - given an appropriate rev range for a sports car engine the heads (maximum valve sizes) and intake system are just too restrictive for anything much over four and a bit litres. This is compounded by it being massively over-cammed in a bid to get anything near the la la land power quote of 320-340 bhp. The result is an engine thats way too lairy for road use ín a car that weighs as much as two fag packets - you either get nothing or way too much, and it doesn't really want to rev. In contrast the 4.3s are lovely for their smooth power delivery and revability. PW or JR themselves admitted in Evo that the 'best' Griff would be a later 500 with a 4.3 engine - which they didn't build.
The Chimaera's softer suspension set up makes the car less agitated and more surefooted on real roads.
The roof panel just about fits in the boot aperture of the Chim - God knows how you get it in/out of a Griff's boot.
Overall, I believe the Chimaera's build quality is the best of the range.
