So having had it confirmed my Gallardo Spyder has gone, what do we think I ought to have next?

On the not very shortlist currently are...

Lambo LP560
Ferrari 612
Aston V8
Audi R8
Porsche 911

I know there is a big spread in prices there, I think it's one of the first 2 really?

Any other ideas?

Ferrari California GT
Ford GT
SLR (could you get one for around same cash as a new well kitted LP560?)

612 for the change as opposed to 'another Lambo'

Or an LP640.

Why a 612 rather than a 599?

612 is a gentlemans car.

Half the price if you buy used.

similar quandry myself ...

a 612 in terms of driving and aesthetic experience is nowhere near as good as a 599 , which in my opinion (depreciation aside) is the best all rounder there is

I sold the Carrera GT a while back as it didn't fit down my underground car park . I test drove the 599, LP640 and SLR and whilst the 599 was my favourite the knowledge that they will tank and tank hard (usually as soon as I buy one) steered me away from that (I will buy one at 150k)

The LP640 is a superior car to the 6.2 , but simply in my eyes not double the car (£ for £)

The SLR has done it's share of depreciation and actually with it's accessibility feels a lot quicker than my old CGT . Laugh out loud silly seat of your pants quick. Amazing all rounder. Not to everyone's taste , but i've always had a softspot for them

Dion::Elms did the business as usual ... bridging the gap with a stunning Pearl Yellow 6.2 Murci and a SLR en route (fingers crossed)

California - Problem is they are not launched until October so availability is the issue.
Ford GT - LHD only
SLR - Just not that keen and still too pricey I think.

The Gallardo Spyder was fantastic and suited me briliantly, really sad it's gone. cry

I don't need practical, I need drama, an event to drive and to look at.

But that'd be 3 Galllardos in a row! I've never had 3 of the same car in a row.

If I was going to have another Gallardo I would have an LP560.

Weeping because I was very sad it went!

Knock the V8Vantage off your list - you'll think you've left the handbrake on! But IF you can get yourself on the list, the V12 engined version - all 550bhp of it - is launching next spring. There'll only be 500 so probably reasonably safe place for your readies too. I notice no Scud. on your list either - there are a few 'extra' cars floating around the dealers I hear......

A Vanquish S will certainly give you drama; albeit not always of the good kind!
