Quarter mile drag times

Taking the Tusk quarter mile racing on Sunday just wondering what time weather permitting I should be chasing?

I'll go for 12.4@112 mph as my guess, let us know how you get on. Never did a 1/4 when I had
the Tuscan but low 12's should be possible if you get off the line O.K.

Hmm tough one I was running low 13's in my 400bhp supra so I would say the tuscan should be a lot quicker (no turbo lag + lighter). We have a 1/8th mile strip just around the corner from us and I plan on taking the Tiv up there as it should be in its eliment.

mid to high 12's. If you get a low 12, you have a very strong engine combined with a good launch technique. 13's all day long if you can't get hooked up.

Thanks for the replys so Im chasing low 12's, I'll try to hold it up for the Tiv massive

If it's your first time, don't be too dissapointed with low to mid 13s. Try a little less pressure in the rear tyres than normal, it helps.

Spot on. I actually think there are few TVR's that can run low 12's in the first place, though many would like to think they can.

I took my old m3 to santa pod and saw a tuscan do a 12.7 with ease,i reckon with a better start he could have had a 12.3

may or may not have been standard.

Just thought I'd post my times up

1st run 12.5 sec @ 120mph

2nd run 13.1 sec @ 94mph

3rd run 12.8 sec @ 121mph

4th run 12.6 sec @ 115mph

5th run 12.5 sec @ 113mph

The 2nd run I was lucky to be running on my own as second gear shot me off about five metres to the left.

If that was Austec's SP day I was there and the Tuscan was my mates (Dark Blue). It has a very sorted 3.6 engine. The 12.7 was his best time - thereafter he ran slightly slower times.

What sort of times would one expect to get from a Tuscan S?

Very impressive times. I've done a 1/4 mile at Santa Pod, where my best run was 12.9s with a 113mph terminal and I had another go on a private road where I clocked 12.4s with a 108mph terminal - basically I ran out of road and couldn't floor it in 3rd. Where did you run the car (North Weald ?) as I shall shortly be looking to do some proper runs on tarmac.
