glad to see it got a good review, as I have one on order (UK, Hi-power).
but they've run into a little HP problem in US, launched with 247HP, after many dyno's mazda have revised the HP down to 238 - down due to emmisions. Sadly the dyno's make it look like 220bhp instead.
This could be because of the low load placed on the engine, as it revs up so fast the extra induction ports opening at 7250rpm dont have time to settle airflow.
UK spec cars are 231ps or 192ps. Was supposed to get mine in July but has now been delayed until November.

I have a huge Mazda RX-8 picture archive. Check out www.rx8media.com
It truely is a great car and has now just been voted WhatCar? best coupe 2005 again!.
The only thing I would disagree with this review on is the ability to get 2 six foot people comfortably in the back. Maybe kids around 14 yrs and under and around 5"2 but not 6 foot. Unless you don't like them of course.
There are some great deals to be had on RX8 in the UK now as Mazda have caught up with the supply chain. Dealers are prepared to offer discounts and a few freebies as well.
I am also starting my own Mazda RX8 community site at www.jdww.co.uk so if anybody would like to help out then that would be great. Thanks

Had mine 3 months (1 year old), although last 4 weeks in repairers having taken a head on from a massive chunk of something thrown out by an artic on the M56. Hopefully get it back tomorrow. I love it to bits, still look forward to driving it every day. Only 2 issues I have is the drivers position is such that the pedals seem rather offset to the right, so some re-adjustment in driving position is required, but it's worth getting used to. Other than that, I have flooded it once, but Mazda breakdown support superb, and he showed me how to sort it, although it does take 20 minutes, and flattens your battery. Hopefully won't make that mistake again, but anyone buying, who doesn't already know, NEVER stop and start if possible, always run until it warms up a bit. Also, some other sites have commented on the oil consumption. I've checked mine every 2 petrol fills, and haven't needed to top it up yet, so whilst I understand the renesys and it's use of oil, things don't seem as bad as some would have you believe. All in all, my opinion is that it is a superb car for the money, and I would recommend anyone to buy one, especially as production after the factory fire in Japan, is back in full swing, so there should be some discounts coming
