my 280i rear bumper strip had some kind of metal fitting that held the rubber on..unfortunately iron oxide does not hold its shape very well so I hv no idea what they looked like and how to buy or fabricate a replacement set
I'm sure Marshall will be helpful about the mounts. My 86 had bolts fiberglassed into the back of the bumper and I had to replace one with a generic bolt. Not hard. Used epoxy to hold it in. Good luck.
