Hi to all. I’m in the middle of building a one off kit for a Vauxhall calibre turbo, this involves taking the roof off & making it in to a two seater convertible. Looking for some advice, can i take it for a standard m.o.t ? when it’s finished, or will it require an sva? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

I think that'll qualify as 'radically altered'. The chassis must have a fair bit of strengthening to stop it bending without a roof.

If your'e in the "middle" of this "calibre" tongue out project does that mean you've already sawn the roof off, or you've strengthened the sills and bulkheads?

Would have thought that sussing out the SVA / MOT implications prior to starting may have been a "Good Idea".

Is it your own, or are you "doing it for a mate"?
