Hey Tipper.

How are you getting on with the yellow stuff pads. My mintex 1144's are nearly run out and I need to get a replacement. Was going to get Pagid RS42 but they do cost a lot and the yellow stuff is priced well. How did you find them on the last track day? how do they compare to the mintex you had before?

I'm off to Donnington start of august so going to get some new pads for that.....

Cheers.

Oly.

I had some too.
So far so good. No track day usage, but some spirited Road driving. Have done Zig Zag on 2 occasions, up and down 4 or 5 times in quick succession, no hint of fad as yet.
Would suggest that they need the 1000mile bedding in, before they show thier full potential

Hi Oly,
I think I prefer them to the Mintex mate.
Plenty of stopping power and they coped with frequent braking at the end of Snet's straights very well - no fade or reduction in stopping power after two dry sessions.
Performed well in the wet too - I found them very easy to modulate so avoiding too many nasty lock-ups.
They're funny in a way in that they don't seem to have the bite that some pads have but they really do work from the moment you touch them.
I can't make comparisons with the RS42s as I've never used them but given the closeness in price to the Mintex I'd take the yellowstuffs.

hmmm food for thought I think! Cheers for the response. If I can afford. I will go for the pagids but if not then I will go for the Yellowstuff and give them a try. Also getting a full set of R888's this month ready for a track day at donny so expensive month!

Oly, if you don't want to stretch to Pagids and are considering alternatives, I can highly recommend SBS Protrack Pads. A number of SELOC'ers have used them, and I now have them on my car. No trackdays yet (next one planned for Brands, Aug 20th), but on hard, fast road use they are superb. Loads of feel, awesome bite and Pagid-quality stopping power. All in all, a big thumbup from me.
