HELP - Gallardo Key Battery Dead
Discussion
Looks like the battery may have died in one of my Gallardo keys. The other ones at my other house. Anyone know how to open the damn key?
The key wont open the doors using the buttons. I can open it physically with the key in the lock, but then the alarm goes off. Once I start the car the alarm deactivates, although i'm not sure if it will cause any other problems if I drive the car like this (tracker for example, or plod thinking i'm a car thief).
I won't be at my other place for a few days and Lambo Service won't be available until Monday now. Feels a bit silly making emergency call for something like this.
If I could figure out how to open the damn key, I could just change the battery and all would be good hopefully.
Help please.

Ok, problem solved.
For the benefit of others, you insert a small flat screwdriver/knife into the recess in the side of the key. And then push. The key will split apart.
I was originally trying to use the screw driver to prise it apart, which is what you intuitively try first. Good thing I didn't persist in the face of resistance as I would have probably damaged the key.
Incase your key has lost sync and still doesn't work with the new battery, do the following. Insert the key into the ignition and hold down both the unlock and lock buttons on the key for 10-15 seconds. It should then sync back up.
Hope this prevents anyone else having a brown pants moment in the middle of nowhere
