I mentioned revamping the Ultima logo to David McD at the factory a couple of years back. He had just got a whole lot of stuff printed with the current logo so he wasn't keen
Good idea tho' - he may be nearly out of stationery this month, and therefore rather more susceptible to a change

Check out the 10th picture down on my updated site below.
I've got a flag on both sides of the car.
The Ultima side grapics I made are symetrically opposite as well so they both lean rearward.
Let me know what you guys think?

Good Idea. There are alot of companies who design logo's (or a crest) available on-line for very reasonable rates. I had two logo's done in the last year....designed by online firms for less than $500. Here's one I had done for my GPS Company. You'll need to cut and paste:

Ultima needs a strong crest. Seems I read somewhere in EVO about one of the few things they could find wrong with Ultimas was that they "lack pedegree". A good strong crest is a good way to build brand awareness and start down the pedegree trail.

"how about some sort of beast eating a prancing horse."
I like that one
I don't think you could to the flags one, it sounds too similiar to the corvette.
Animals always look good but there wouldn't be any reason to use one with the Ultima. Most of the badges have history behind them.
It should have something that reflects that it's just a street legal race car, but it needs to capture the imagination (like the prancing horse).
Only thing I can think of is maybe a silver badge with some detail (so it doesn't look blank with just a few letters) with GTR or U in it.

This was a long time coming...on the USA club site there is a preliminary version of the crest I'm working on. The hearladry is from the factory's home.
Ultima is a marque with significant racing history that I'm sure will be long lived. The crest is meant to remind one of the cars origin, (origins) and purpose.
I haven't sent a copy to the factory yet. Hopefully they will like it or it will motivate them to make a similar effort (in their spare time!).
The emblems that Porsche uses were not initially thought important by the factory, it was the car owners that prompted the factory to design one. Am I alone in thinking that this great car needs an emblem?
I've found a company that can make logos and scripts from resin that are chrome plated. I'll keep you updated.
