using formatting codes more than once in a post

The latest formatting is great, but sometimes I run into trouble. The other day I wanted to underline two__ words in different places within a post, and it underlined a whole lot of stuff I didn't __want. Today I wanted to put some text containing a hash character in a post, so I put the text in as
{ { { text } } }. That worked OK, but when I tried to do it again further on in the same post, the text got replaced with [ NOWIKI ]. Perhaps the parsing logic could be beefed up a bit?

The parsing across the site as a whole needs another look at so it works in classifieds, forums, profiles and any other new features we wish to add. We are going to analyse what all the parsers do towards the end of this month and look at beefing them up.
