Hi,
I'm just about to start the painful process of importing my H2 from Florida (where I've been living for the past 8 months) to the UK. I've budgeted for the import duty and VAT but I'm not sure how much work is required to get it through an SVA test. Any ideas?
Thanx Stuart

Fit a fog light and you should be ok (ish)

they use MPH in the states so you speedo should be OK
As long as you pass noise and emmisions anything else should be simple to fix.

Thanks, thats a relief. At least I know now that the import process is only going to cost one kidney.

This is what has to be done. This is my Corvette but the principles are the same. Worth checking that it's classed as a car rather than a commercial as commercials are 22% import duty not 10% but are much easier to SVA - no side repeaters, nothing for some reason. Check with a local SVA Centre.

Oh and you must have some sort of desire to lose money as these have to depreciate like a stone in the current climate, right?wink

BUT!!

you will be having an enhanced SVA won't you!

I think you might need a model report.
SVA UK will let you hire one IIRC

Might be worth giving them a call.

Little bit more than that, front side lights need to be white, side repeters, amber rear indercaters and a rear fog lamp, give me a call if you get stuck.

No. Plain SVA for American cars.
