Audi showed a dominant performance at the sixth DTM round at Zandvoort and, like last year, celebrated a one-two-three-four victory in the Netherlands. It was the new Audi A4 DTM’s best result so far and Audi’s 45th victory in the DTM. One day before his 30th birthday, title defender Mattias Ekström celebrated his second exploit of the season, after winning the season opener at Hockenheim. Following the twelfth DTM triumph of his career, the two-time champion is now the best Audi driver in DTM history.

Watched bits of this and it was terribly dull for the last 3/4 of the race - almost completely processional. Quite a shame - clearly the Audis weren't going to dive up the inside of each other.

How come Merc were so (relatively) slow?

True, but Ekström said he had to push all the way to the finish to keep second-placed Scheider behind him. Scheider is quoted as saying "Although I was able to put some pressure on Mattias there was no chance to get even closer to him due to the corners at Zandvoort."

The A4 has always been particularly strong at Zandvoort (they took the first four places last year too and have won four of the last six races there). The four front runners all got perfect starts (unlike some of the Mercs) and their pit stops all went smoothly. I do know what you mean though - the Audis did seem to be in a different league and even Norbert Haug admitted that the leading Mercs' 10kg weight handicap wasn't the only explanation for this.

That said the three best Mercedes drivers Spengler, Green and Di Resta filled the next three slots and all scored points; also they won the last three races so it's not like they haven't been competitive. It'll be interesting to see how they get on at the Nürburgring.

What?!? If you take the time to read further up the thread you'll see that I acknowledged my mistake and did not try to deny it. Hell, if it's such a fecking big deal why didn't a moderator edit the thread title? That's what happens on OTHER forums. Oh hang on, I forgot - you "don't go to other sites" so I guess that's an alien concept. It was the smug and condescending tone of johnfelstead's posts that I'm objecting to.

I didn't come here to kick off some sort of juvenile pissing match; I was merely trying to start a discussion about a very popular form of touring car racing and to contribute to the site - isn't that what forums are all about? If this is typical of the community here I won't bother in future. I submit that it is you who are the pillocks - and pretty anal ones at that.

He could post it the same day, during the race or the second it finishes for all anyone on here would care just without the result in the title so people who want to watch that particular race later can do so, whilst still being able to surf the rest of the forum.

It's a pretty basic concept and how people have managed to work with this (and many other) websites for years whilst not pissing it's users off. That is why the moderator, who cant be here all the time, and who expects to not have to be here all the time, put a sticky at the top of the forum for new users to read.

There was always a "but" with your post john, had you not put those there but just said sorry, you see the point made by the forum moderators and first person to suggest you keep to the forums policy, that would have been fine and i wouldn't have said a thing.
