Wedge 280i Rear Axle Question.....
Discussion
I will soon be the proud owner of a 280i (deposit paid collecting this week).
I have checked up on the MOT database and one of the advisories on the last MOT (very little mileage since) was "offside rear bearing feels slightly rough", this will probably mean I'll have to think about replacing the bearings if not before the winter certainly over the winter.
Can anyone confirm which axle etc was used on a 1981 TVR Tasmin 280i?
I believe from wedge pages its VW Bearings but would be nice to confirm which car/model they came from so I make sure I get the right ones.
Thanks in advance.

Rear bearing is MK2 Granada. On a Granada the inner and outer seals are different, but on the TVR they are the same. So if you buy a kit for a MK2 Granada you will have 1 incorrect seal. Before you go to the trouble of replacing it I'd check it out myself. When then the wheels are off the ground and the drive shaft's at a steep angle you can get a slight knocking/bind. Best to check with the trailing arms slightly jacked up. Cheers Steve
