We are near cambridge and would like an act! expert to come and set up a new installation for us.

Any takers?

Yuk.

You *really* want to use ACT?

I have spent the last year weening my business away from the stinking pile...

You may be better asking a consultant to set up a database from a package that is a lot better, less clunky and crashes less.

It is probably more a case of better the devil we sort of know. It is not worth investing in anything like a bespoke package at the moment (and we are a software house so could write one).

All we need is a pretty simple set up to schedule and manage lists of calls, we don't use it for forecasting or anything exciting like that.

Any ideas welcome though.

We moved to Goldmine from Act and are much happier with it - depends what you want to use it for though i guess....

We use a company in Berkshire (but they will travel - We are in Banbury) for our support and training now called Preact http://www.preact.co.uk/ - Really good to deal with and excellent trainers. They supply Act, Sage and Goldmine databases so i'm sure they will be able to discuss the best one for your needs.

We deal with a guy called Tom who is really good.

Tim.

Hi, I'd be delighted to set it up for you and I use ACT myself- I'm on the Suffolk side of Cambs. WIth CRM systems it really does depend upon what you need it for so don't be put off when someone else blags it. I have worked with Goldmine, Sage CRM and Deltek.

The company I work for develop and sell our own web based crm/ lead generation product. One of the main areas it specialises in is for companies who want to create and manage lists of companies and contacts to call, so does things like recording the outcome of calls, setting callbacks etc.

Drop me an email if your interested.
