What is the best product to polish a car by hand?

Don't have a polishing machine (yet.. saving up for a Porter Cable smile ) so looking for the best hand applied polish

Tried the Autoglym paint renovator (think it is called that, has a pink label on the bottle) but didn't get the best results, unless that was my fault in terms of the wrong technique. (with the AG I found there to be some very strange fine, faint lines in the paintwork.. these have since gone after a few washes and polish applications)

For a good all round polish to be completed by hand i would go with Autoglym Super resin polish topped off with Autoglym Extra gloss protection.
This will fill any swirl marks you may have, leave a fresh looking surface and protect it.

Or to step up a notch and i will recommend this untill i am blue in the face Zaino AIO (all in one) this is a awesome product and very easy to apply / remove by hand and will leave your paint looking as fresh and very well protected as it can without being machine polished.

Super resin and Extra gloss protection is what I have been currently using, in stronger sunlight the paintwork still doesn't have the mirror reflection I want, as soon as it is twlight it does though :S

Thanks for the advice, will give the Zaino a try smile

Ok Have you Clay bared the car before this will eliminate bonded contaminants from the surface leaving it silky smooth and will help the polish do what it should. Also for real depth and reflection a machine polisher will also be better than hand.

This was after Autoglym Body Shampoo, Super Resin Polish, and then Super Gloss Protection

Same products I have been using but mine have come out nowhere near as good.

Maybe a case of the paint needing a much more abrasive polish (and possibly clay bar)

Someone's not been paying enough attention over on DW!
AB is not your typical sealant, and BH are cautious about suggesting a carnauba wax over the top as the carrier solvents may affect the durability of the Balm.
Don't need it for looks - AB already has a fair element of wax-like properties, it's only the beading aesthetics that doesn't match a carnauba's - but then all sealants are cursed with that "affliction".
