Help!! My hood is falling to pieces!!
Discussion
This happened to mine; apparently sunlight weakens the stitching which then gives way!
I got my rear window replaced (they wouldn't just restitch it, but I think that's for the best really as most of the cost is labour) at a company in Reading, which is obviously no good for you. However, what might be of interest is that it was covered by my windscreen policy so I only had to pay the £60 excess rather than the whole £290 cost.

Yep, I do seem to be jinxed. The list is:
1). No Fuel gauge
2). No Oil pressure gauge
3). No intermittent wipers
4). At one time no wipers
5). Really rusted earth in front.
6). Rear window falling out.
All in the first week!!
But, the chassis is in good nick and I will be putting mor hammerite on it this weekend.

Apparently they do have on, mine does the first 2 intermittent then becomes constant, before blowing the fuse and stopping all wash/wipe actions. I now carry and small supply of 15 amp fuses, as well as the handbook.
15 amp fuses are good - I'm sure that's the size you need when the fan fuse blows (although I think more of a Griff problem
) I found, like everyone else that wipers were dismally slow, but having gone out in the rain a few times, they have speeded up somewhat - they just needed a bit of practice!
You have a list of fixables, but none of them are too terrible - you've covered the most important things like chassis etc. so don't worry too much mate - just keep dusting the jap-crap and dodgy gauges seem of little importance (until you run out of fuel
