Roll Cage to Roll Bar

I'm just about to swap my 'Caged' Roll Cage for an FIA (Arch) Roll Bar (single diagonal roll bar).

The car in question is a 2004 ex Academy.

Does anyone know whether the current boot cover will still fit properly or do I:
1.) Need to buy a new ones
or 2.) 'Modify' the existing?

On the same topic AND if I CANNOT use the existing one can the boot cover be removed without taking off the new roll bar . Sounds like a big job just to swap the boot cover but I think the harness bolt (which goes through the boot cover) cannot be taken out because the new diagonal will stop the bolt being able to be removed.

Stuart, out of interest, do you have the superlight style cage (i.e. double D hoops in the roof) or the one with the diagonal across the roof? Are you looking to sell the cage? If so, can you send me a PM with price and your location, etc. thks

It is not the cage with the double hoops.

I have provisioanlly sold it but if you are interested please let me know and make an offer as i'm not sure if the sale is going to fall through.... its very complicated thats all.. logistics etc!

I've got a single diagonal FIA bar and you can take all the harness bolts out, just that one bolt needs a spanner on it rather than a socket because of clearance problems.

Hi,

i just did the same thing. I changed my early academy cage to a Arch single diagonal 38mm FIA roll over bar.
The tread in the cage was a 7/16unf. But the FIA bar has a different threat. I guess it shout be 3/8unf but i am not 100% sure. Can anybody confirm this.

the thin-topped bolts that go into the two legs of the roll bar from beneath and above the top of the rear shock absorbers are indeed 3/8" UNF (as I queried a week or two ago!)
