i've got a hole in the offside rear lighting cluster -they look suspiciously like Escort Mk4 - are they?

Go for the smoked lights - they look good with the dark colours.

Cheer Richard - saw the ones on a previous thread and just ordered them from Nomad - good price too!

Excellent! I suspect that the Nomad ones may be a slightly lower quality than the Halfords etc. ones at twice the price, but they look fine and function perfectly, so no problem there. They also got through an MoT without any problems.

It'd be good to see a pic once you've got them fitted.

arrived this morn - look sweet!

are they a bugger to fit or is it a half hour job with a screwdriver?

Depends how much mastic was sloshed around the originals. I spent the whole afternoon changing one.

easy job really. unbolt them from the rear, give em a push from behind and maybe a bit of leverage with a plastic item from the corners at the front (i used plastic tyre thingies from bike puncture repair kit). Tug em out, whack a new layer of black silicon around the old holes and stick in new ones, bolt em up, swap bulbs and roberts ya fathers brother.

If you get some original ones, they are foam backed and bolt straight on without all that gunge being used.

Brilliant.

It's all pretty straightforward. Half an hour to an hour should do it, plus an hour for the photo shoot!

Is that a record for the longest wait before coming up with an off-the-cuff reply?
