Just got back from Le Grande Route les Alpes.
Car performed impecably, attracted amazing attention everywhere. Lost count of the times people took pictures, including a middle aged Italian women who said 'bella bella' a lot. oooh and lots of tunnels
Here are a couple of mine -

Stayed at a nice Hotel in Chamonix with secure underground parking, but when they saw the car, they insited I park it at the front of the hotel where reception could 'keep an eye' on it biglaugh

I cycled up the Col de l'Iseran once from the Val d'Isere side. Dunno about the Cerb but I was a bit down on power by the time I reached the top (first pic). 2,770m is nearly 10,000ft in old money, isn't it.

Epic place. One of my favourites yes

Agreed, but the Galiber is also epic, as you leave the top, going in the same direction, (north to south) there is one bit where you seem to be perched right on the mountain top. You can only see a tiny bit of road in front of you, which bends to the left then right, with sheer drops down both sides. Would not dare to say what my passenger said at that point, but I dont think my laughing helped. evil(silent treatment for a mile or so, followed by a big vodka at the bar further down)

Great Post thumbup I'm off to Switzerland later this - year 3rd on the trot in the Cerb - and fancy nipping over to Italy (just to show off British at its best to the locals really smile) And they nlook the sort of roads I enjoy.
Would you mind posting up the route you took, or email me. Many thanks.

Hey TC - would a line of Cerberas over the Alps be a great trip? tongue out

Karen and I went over the Col d'Allos on the way to Monaco in May which was simply breathtaking. We had wanted to the Mont Blanc tunnel and then the Petit St. Bernard and off to Val and Chamonix, but the pass was still shut! I found the car ran fine, but the idle dropped off a couple of hundred rpm queueing for the MB tunnel. The view of Mont Blanc on the way up to the tunnel is stunning as it looms over the world, the tunnel itself is expensive and very dull!

Steve.

Totally agree on the Mont Blanc Tunnel. £20.00 to go through, and very 'regimented' on the way through. Plenty others nearby for free.
