just saying hi to everyone as i've only just realised there is a yorkshire forum!
am yorkshire born & bred, originally from a little village nr leeds, moved over to the darkside [lancashire] for uni, and now residing in east yorkshire/humberside [when it makes its mind up what it wants to be called]. nice cars are pretty rare here, unless they're on the way from/to the ferry port. did see a cracking blue elan dhc this morning though if that belongs to someone here?
anyway, hello!
Funny that you think nice cars are rare round here... We seem to see plenty of really nice and some "different" cars out around here on the highways and byways, and Morrisons carparks of East Yorks. I'm sure most of the local guys on here will agree that there's usually something to perve at out and about during the summer months.

i see some nice cars when the local vw club start the summer season [split windows, karmann ghias Edited by TheMighty on Wednesday 16th July 13:58
] and on the A63 leaving hull [the best direction
] but not a great deal besides. used to go to loads of classic fairs and hillclimbs at harewood with my dad when i was younger, but i don't have much free time anymore. ditto for coming along to meets, its been about 2 years since i had a spare weekend.
hopefully situation will change by xmas, when i plan to buy something 'interesting' myself.
Ey up lad. Tha neds ta op en theez ize.
Plenty of rare exotic stuff around here.
My mate in Hull has 53 Coupe Deville.
Mate in Beverley has a Ghibli Cup (one of 29 r.h.d)
Norman Hawkes TVR Trident resides locally.
I know the whereabouts of a 'boat tail' Moon. One of only two in existence, and you won't find anything written about such in American Car Encyclopedia either.
Hell, even Monty's battlefield touring caravan resided in a shed on Albert Dock for years.
Check out Z Cars of Aldborough, or how about looking up Don Hoggard. Often has rare exotic restorations undergoing. Then there's Don Haldenby, still looking after Stirling Moss' race cars to this day, as well as other really rare stuff.
Like I said, you need to open your eyes. Welcome to Yorkshire East. Never slumberside!

only going from what i've seen, though i think i might have seen wiz's westfield on the road, or one very similar [i live about 5min from t'humber bridge].
nice cars burriana! true what you say about the roads here, some great runs north of hull leading up to the moors & the coast. north lincs. is pretty good too, hardly anything about unless its rush hour.
the only road round here i really dont like is the one over the humber - the one that costs me £100 a month to use!

Nice cars burriana!
Thanks Nice cars burriana!

That'll be Hessle or Ferriby at a guess then (grew up in Hessle and would love to move back to that area in a few years).

i live a hop skip and a jump from the marina. not the best area by a long chalk but should be moving on soon.
Don't knock it. If I had the spare funds that is where I would buy something. Once the market kicks back in, Hull will be one of the places with decent property value growth. It is already a vastly improved city to the one I grew up in
