Right 6 months until i can drive woohoo Should i keep the Imp and get that driveable, or be a total plonker and buy a 280 Wedge!!!! (CRAZY THOUGHTS!)
I'm thinking Imp for a year then get the 280, at least i'll have some rear wheel drive experience by then.

Imp should be fun first, especially once i've fitted my sports cam evil, then i'll do a few track days, then on to a wedge.

Only reason for me thinking this is that the 280's are going for pennies! and they're a classic, don't do new stuff!

I like your thought process.
Insurance is probably going to be the limiting factor so get quotes and see what you can afford/who will offer you a policy. I would think some time learning how to handle an Imp on the ragged edge would be good preparation for stepping up to a 280. There is always a lot of macho stuff talked about getting a V8 but the 280 isn't that far behind.

Would rather do my own insurance, the Imp Club can get new driverers quotes for as little as £500! A lad got an Imp, with mod's for £540!!
