Can someone explain to me why my post linking my camera body for sale was removed when there is one other clearly identical topic (in terms of posting rules breach) on page 1 of this forum ?

jeez I know it's "against the rules" but surely blatant ads in the P&P is different to letting like-minded people know that you might be able to help them get started with a useful hobby?

IIRC your thread was deleted and a mail was sent explaining that the Rules of Posting clearly state that no adverts are allowed in the forums.

Whilst we do try to be consistent in enforcing this rule, with the pure volume of threads raised, we may miss the odd one or two.

If we have missed another thread that contravenes that rule then please do not hesitate to report it and the thread in question will also be deleted.

Thanks for the heads up I found it, now deleted as you were correct it was in breach of the rules of posting.

However whilst we don't have adverts in the forum, we now appear to have stickies leading to them... which will get annoying when there are 10 of them.

I agree with Miniman that people don't tend to look in PH Classifieds for camera stuff - so how about a linkning to a dedicated Photo section from this very page?

That was the point of my sticky. It contains a link to the classifieds, where there currently isn't a photo section. I have requested one. If it is granted, I will update the link.

Aha, I see, a generic 'kit for sale' thread and just one sticky. Yep, that would work.

All we need now is a dedicated photo section because at the moment its full of other clutter.

+1 the idea of a section on the classy for photography I quite often look for kit on there and it does take ages going through each page...

Im sure it would get used if there was one.
