Trading in my new 911 and just bought a T350T

Hi Guys

After owning Porsches for the last 20yrs, and being an admirer and sceptic of TVR's i have finally taken the plunge, what did it was being over taken on a track day by a T350, it looked and sounded gorgeous.

I will be keeping my 911 for a while just to see if i can live with my TVR everyday, i really hope so.

Any way i am due to pick her up on Fri so i will keep you posted as to my journey back Nottingham to Marlborough, should be a good test especially if it is raining.

Welcome to the TVR fold......had my T350c for 3 months now.....you will get the usual TVR niggles....but they are worth it.

Oh good. More intelligent comments about TVRs.... What went wrong on yours?

BTW I quite like Porkers. I'd just never bother with having one.

Be good to see a direct comparison from someone who has experienced both. You CAN live with a TVR every day. I regularly cover journeys of over 3 hours in mine. But then I love the sound of the car, more so than either cocooned silence or the sound of the stereo.

I do hope you aren't disappointed. Shame you aren't collecting next Friday as I'll be returning to Dorset from Nottingham so I could have kept you company for some of the way.

I am in Stockley very nr to Avebury which is about half an hour from you, would love to go for a drive, are there many others in the area, most people selling cars seem to be based up north, a hidden gem from blackpool.

I often see porka's about when out in the Tamora, but they don't seem to have the same appeal as a TVR does.

What 911 did you have?

My previous motor was a cracking 911 CarreraS widebody, the 993 version, last of the air cooled engine - fabspeed exhaust and decat, sounded incredible, still miss the burble but the TVR with Fabspeed is even better.

I used to have a 993 2S and loved it to death, i then jumped straight to the 997 as i never liked the 996, I still miss the 993 the best modern Porsche ever built in my opinion and of course last of the air cooled.

I have got 3 Porsches; my everyday is a Carerra 2s fully loaded but tiptronic which was a big mistake.

I also have a 1973 Targa never been touched resprayed or crashed, stunning car and great fun to drive, I went down to the Monaco Historique a couple of months back it was fantastic.

My 3 rd porker is a garage queen and lives in an air bubble and hardly ever get used, its a 1956 356 speedster beautiful but to precious to use, I have just been offered a large sum of money for that so I might sell, don’t know yet.

My wife has a new Discovery which is the family car as we have 2 kids.

So there you have it my fleet, but I am so looking forward to getting something much more raw as my everyday car hence my decision to get the T350, I have just put an ad up on PH for my 911, there seem to be so many for sale that I am thinking I will have a few wks before she goes which should give me enough time to decide if the TVR is staying.

There are a few in the area and I go along to the TVRCC regional meet every now and then. Check the website but it's usually the last Wednesday in the month. Let me know when you want to go out. My email via my profile.

Try to get as late a car as poss, the post 04 s6 cars seem to suffer from far less problems, get a good one and you wont want to drive anything else ever, just make sure you warm it up properly before hammering it.

Hi, interesting as i did the reverse! Had a T350C for a year then traded it in for a 996 C2 (with `S` goodies fitted)

He would have been sick as a pig at silverstone yesterday as my neighbour and i (both tuscan s owners)made the porkers look very slow except for a GT3 2 porkey drivers even came over and asked what engine we had fitted........
