I noticed 2 in the last two weeks on the Universal Salvage website. They didn't attract much attention.

This could be one of them I suppose.

Well a good chance the A pillar is gone, and what with the wait on items being shipped from oz, and assuming that his insurrance states that he is entiteled a free loan car which could, lets face it could be for six months. Then it is just an economic decision to write it off.

When I bought the RO brand new the dealer was really pushing an insurrance cover for the first year that should the car be in a scrape they would replace it with a brand new one! I can see why now.

and about 8 miles from me. They've also got an 04 monaro on there with front end damage and some repairable rear damage for £4.5k. There's an HSV in gold for sale in the same area aswell. looks like Halesowen is the equivalent of the sacred place elephants go to die...!
BTW anyone got an idea of what it would cost to put right (obviously approximately)with the damage that is evident?

Given that it's likely the car is less than a year old then usually a new car is Cat D'd alot easier than an older car

easy 7-8k worth of damage there at dealer prices to fix, based on my monaro repairs couple of years back - I had similar side impact on A-pillar, needed new door and outer wing plus half car respray to blend it all in and that came in at 2.5k. Given this one looks a good bit heavier on the impact, my A-frame was intact and didnt need repaired, and then theres the alloy wheel, airbags, suspension etc certainly could be pushing towards 7-8k at insurance repair rates. I'm sure someone will take it on but it wouldnt be me and I wouldnt want to buy it when finished either.

IIRC it was at the porsche shop halesowen, but can't see it advertised now. Had the HSV livery down the side - i've seen it in parked up in halesowen before (6 months ago) is he local?
