Lotus Europa SE, where is it?

I thought the europa SE was due out in June and now we are almost into August but still no sign of it on any forecourt or advertised?

Did I dream this or did Lotus mean 2009, it looks like we will see the Eagle before we see the SE.

mmmm...dunno, read an article in Autocar yesterday on it...maybe ring a dealer? ...im sure with the (lack of) sucess its built to order

Maybe dealers don't like it as its almost the same price as the existing europa. Given a choice I think for that little bit extra most would go for more power and more luxury. Dealers don't want to be stuck with europa s's they can't shift in theese difficult times.

I can't find a single dealer site offering a SE.

I think youve hit the nail on the head there...how many dealers, who are maybe seeing their regular sales hit recently, are going to buy models from Lotus to put on the forecourt that dont sell well ....financial suicide ! ...so I guess if you want one, you have to go and order one ....

The SE from the Motorshow sold straight away - So I guess ordering one would not be a bad idea

The Group Lotus site now has the details on the SE though still the old june 08 price lists.

Doubt any dealers will pre order unless forced to. I think too many struggled to sell original at list.
That said I like the S though has to be in the right colour , probably why I just bought one.
I could have gone down the SE route but the price comparison was weighted in favour of pre-owned S.
Worst bit so-far on the S, crappy radio reception...

DAFL - I wouldn't be surprised if they don't start shipping the ones that are sat on dealer forecourts all over the country, back to Hethel for refits.
