setting up xbox live wireless help please

My son wants xbox live set up, but when I try to connect it to the internet im getting a gateway error, unfortunately i'm not great at computers so i'm not sure what this means.

Ive used the gateway codes which my computer gives me and also the ones online at xbox help but it still dosent work.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Sorry, this may not be much help, but in the meantime if you're still getting trouble and your son is desperate to get on, can I suggest a trip to Game for one of their 10-15m long network cables and do it hard wired temporarily - the cables £10 and not a rip off, everywhere else on the high street wants over £25 for a 10m one..

Fran, Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately due to the layout of our house a hardwire is not really an option the router and the xbox could not be further apart! Although it may be an option to get the codes?

Anyone else have any ideas?
