I have seen a Nissan GTS 2500cc Non Turbo for sale , is this the same engine as used in the GTR ie can it be brought to the same spec with a turbo , new pistons etc.
Any help appreciated as I know naff all about these engines.

The non turbo is the RB25 versus the RB26 in the GTR. Not as simple as strapping on a turbo either I am afraid.

Most people who buy the non turbo end up either happy with the power level or selling them on for turbos as they are quite difficult to tune signficantly. A couple have been supercharged to good effect, but with the price of the GTST now at rock bottom levels, I would look for one in the first place as it will certainly be the cheaper way to go....

That's odd. The R32 non-GTRs would have a 2.0 litre engine, I thought?

There was an RB25DE fitted to the R32 which made 180hp.

yes The R32 came with a reasonable assortment of engines -

GXi: CA18I 91hp (crap)
GTE: RB20E 125hp (single cam)
GTS: RB20DE 155hp (twin cam)
GTS25: RB25DE 180hp
GTS-T(incl M-spec etc): RB20DET 215hp
GTS-4: RB20DET 215hp (AFAIK there was no NA 4wd version)
GTR: RB26DETT 280hp
