The engine malfunction light on my 1.6 ts impreza has just come on. I've connected up the analysis connectors and tried to check the fault sequence code. However all I'm getting is a very fast flashing of the warning light, any ideas?

The check engine light could be coming on for a number of reasons however, if you are having probs reading the flashes you need the proper OBDII trouble code reader.

What year is your car and whereabouts in bucks are you??

You'll know if you have reset the ECU because when you turn the iginition on and start the car your check engine light will go out for a short time until whatever caused it to throw up the error in the first place plays up again when you drive it around, and then again maybe your ECU simply got it's keks in a twist. It happens. Some times errors will clear themselves after a few hours of rest but that doesn't tell you what caused the error in the first place.

If you still get stuck and it comes back on.......shout!! biggrin
