trust the dealers?

Having just purchased my first Porsche and feeling very proud and broke I realised suddenly after having owned it for two weeks that I have taken a huge leap of faith in the dealer. The car is in the shop at the moment after a large blue cloud of smoke erupted on starting it. To be fair the dealer said bring it in straight away. Now there is a noise and a boost leak somewhere that needs the motor to be removed. I spent a lot of money on this vehicle and suppose it is right that it should be fixed and that the dealer is doing it but I am disappointed and a little worried that the good things said about the vehicle to get me to purchase may have been sales talk. I suppose the fact that I negotiated 24 months of porsche warrentee should make me feel better. Anyone out there who would be worried if they were me?
Might just be one of those things, but to be honest with two years warranty unless a major consumable goes like the clutch you should be pretty well covered for most eventualities. As long as they undertake any repair work to a satisfactory standard and you're happy with it then there shouldn't be any problems.

always makes me wonder! my advice is never listen to sales man talk, they know very little about the car they are selling, at best they may have had a chat with the old owner.
do your own research, poss get the details of old owner and speack to them yourself.
for a sales man the car is just a number on a sales target, for you its your pride and joy. you should be alright though with the fact you just brought it and you've got warrenty.

That sounds like a very poor start to the Porsche ownership experience. I'd be thinking about asking the dealer to exchange it for a more satisfactory car. Get a diagnostic printout and have an independant consulting motor engineer look over it. He would be able to tell you whether you have been unlucky or bought a dog. I guess this must be a pre-owned Porsche? How old? If it happened within a week or so I would request a full refund or at least an exchange of vehicle if there is anything suitable. In fact if new I would still want a refund! If you accept the repair you will be basically agreeing to them to get it right. Better to wipe the slate clean and start again. They you will see how good your dealer is. They aren't all sharks out there despite Beany's assumptions...
