It's been said before, but check your hoses!!
After doing a bit of fettling on the ECU with the laptop, I decided to top up the washer system.
Imagine my surprise when I opened the bonnet and saw a steady stream of fuel spraying onto the engine from a pin-sized hole in a fuel line!
It wasn't caused by the hose perishing, but by the hose coming into contact with the aircon drive belt as the engine rocked slightly under revving. I'd recommend checking that your hoses are secure!
I'm just very happy that I caught it when I did.
Before I replace it, is there anything I should know about pressure and the fuel system?

I got a local hose shop to make me some new ones. I explained they were pressurised fuel hoses and they knew exactly what materials and fittings to use. I wrapped a towel arond the first hose I removed because the system remains pressurised and a small amount of fuel spreys out when the fitting is lossened.
