Brake line failure on 1999 S1 135s!!
Discussion
After installing new flexi downpipe yesterday. Been broken for some time, as the car now sounds fantastic, also fitted the 5" eliseparts exhaust last month.
Coming back home from test run, luckly only 30yards from home, lost all brakes.
On closure inspection found nearside brake line, second bend coming out of sill area had split, this area is quite exposed and had a fare bit of crap stuck on it. Off side seems ok.
Very lucky that it went as I was pulling into drive, would suggest other owners check their lines. My last MOT was only 4months ago.

One of my braided hoses failed on the dual carriageway a couple of months back, not sure why exactly, I presume it had been rubbing on a suspension component.
I now check each hose every couple of weeks to make sure nothing silly is going on there, takes an extra minute or two when checking tyre pressures

Thanks. Yep all ok, just happened as I was pulling up to turn into drive. First firm breaking as usual, then pedal went down halfway, then right down to floor.
Just happy wasn't in the middle of an emergency stop!!
scary is it was, you still had the front brakes, just the pedal will have to travel a lot further before you reach them....Just happy wasn't in the middle of an emergency stop!!
Pics would be good to see, if only to help understand what's happened....
