WARNING Door Open

hi guys,

my drivers window when opening door would never return to closed position after closing. i didn't mind this because when ypou armed the alarm this sent it to closed position. however now it won't go further than half way and the dash is saying the door is still open even when driving! can anyone help as i can't go anywhere leaving window half up! thank you in advance,

As for the door being open, take the chrome gaurd off the door catch (3 screws) and you should see a micro switch with a metal arm on it. Basicly when the door is closed it pushes this arm in and pushes the switched closed. I found on mine that I had to take the switch off and bend the arm so that it remained in contact with the door catch. Took around 10 min. I have heard that the window is sometimes effected by the door being stuck open.

thanks for that. did as you said and manually pressed in the micro switch but it didn't stop warning . diagnostic e comes up which i presume is due to me dismantling door as i don't have a manual.

the little strip that obviously makes contact looks a bit frail. will tahe it to the auto electrician. thanks for your input.
