Off to wales next week for sis in law wedding. As the roads are so good, its going to be hard not to uses the roads to their full ability.

How about if my number plate fell off for the 6 days trip? If its a talivan they cant get me, but would the cops if there are any around? would they just warn me and tell me to stick it back on at the next halfords?

and which number plate should fall off or be muddy. Im tempted by the rear as a jammer is fitted to the front.

Down here, if you get a good one (BiB I mean, and they are out there, trust me), you'll get away with a VDRS (Vehicle Defect Rectification Scheme).

That gives you 14 days to rectify the fault and it costs you not a penny. I'm pretty confident a missing plate would be VDRS here in Dorset, unless you failed the attitude test but not sure about the policy in Wales.

I'm sure a kind-hearted BiB from that locale could tip us the wink on that one?

May not be goodly number but I do see the unmarked (and marked) with a few pulls (or breakdowns) on my daily drives around the area. Several a week maybe? Less so in the mid Wales area. Not sure about north Wales as I don't spend much time there but I have seen them there as well.

If it's broken and you've lost the screws then you can't get one made without showing the V5 which I would imagine you'd leave at home ?

Best bet is to actually have a spare made up. Then smash one of the plates in half, leave one half attached to the car and leave the other half lying face down on the parcel shelf with sticky tape round it.

If a copper stops you, at least your trying to do the right thing by displaying the other half in the window, but the tape keeps unsticking.
