An antidote for all those fed up with being barked at briefings and the nannying culture that has crept in in the UK.

Overtake each side and enjoy yourself. Blue flags! Cheery disposition of the operators and decent coffeesmile

Just back from Monza, and am still buzzing from the speed. Bit of a schlepp to get to, but well worth it if you have decent brakes and not faint of heart.

Curve Grande is mega....

Try doing it on a bike! Indicated 185mph three times on one lap!!

Did Sundeep manage to collect his flying banana from Manthey in time?

PS you coming racing at Silverstone in 3 weeks?

Can vouch for it being a tad fast, fastest track ive ever done, really is epic, I pas'd with the phatone at end of the day & his digital speedo hit 164mph before braking for the chicane- turn in at 42mph! & we all wondered why we had cooked brakes! mere 135-140 for me in my old chugga tho, but even at more pedestrian speeds I've never got my brakes that hot anywhere else either.

I've done fair few euro days now but all to UK passing rules, & personally as a trackdayer not a racer I'm not such a fan of both side overtakes, coped ok at Monza but perhaps too used to the UK system I guess. Much prefer being allowed shorts & T shirts as I've worn at many european track days- handy in sweltering italian heat, never seen why a thin shirt & trousers are gunna help much in a big off anyway???

Who ran the day? Monza really is a great track. A bit overwhelming at first though due to the speed!

I think the covered arms/legs bit is to protect against glass in the event of an off. However after a fire at the Ring in my caterham, I'm going to start wearing a nomex polo necked long sleeve top from now on, whatever the weather, as I burnt my arms fairly badly.... In the UK, I'll wear my racesuit, but this is overkill (or perhaps not?) for the Ring?

The RS was awesome through the curve grande. Imagine how fast it would be without 2 enormous lumps in the car!

Did you enjoy the laps?

mega track but a bit slow in the old CSL by the middle of the straights up against the recent porkers, lambo and ferrari we were with

but still did the curve flat and then paniced every time at the next chicane, BUT didnt once skip the chicane unlike some angel

Going a bit OT...I view that as 'you have had your 1 lucky escape'. There is as much chance of getting burnt (again) at the ring as there is at the UK. It might not be an off or your fault either...what if your engine goes in a big way? Or someone plows in to the back of you with enough speed to rupture your fuel tank? Or their fuel tank if its in the front?
You might feel like a bit of a numpty but so what, safety first!
Also racesuits are pretty comfy and warm when its chilly. You dont feel to 'bulked up' when your squashed in to the car either.

Trouble is I am so fat I look like a Tellytubby in my racesuit and does appear you are trying too hard!

Agreed, the joys of Euro days. Which is what I have been doing since last year. Although best to stick to the Porsche-like events. May to Sep is euro season, pity the euro shifted as it has been such a bargain. I agree that Curva Grande was awesome, as well as the 2 Lesmos.

I would recommend Hockenheim GP circuit, as it fast but much more technical than Monza with some of the largest and flat run off areas around, so a great play to drift!

aye aye captain, so if your people (assuming a man like you has people) to let me know your diary availability and off we go

need new brakes 1st after I pick my car back from storage in Italy

as the Hock is a fast circuit, I'll have to ask Fergus to come along so we can all pass him on the straights over and over again
