I like it.
And it passes the easy to say ventriloquist test, i.e. no hard consonants (Carol).

Much better than eagle with all its terrible American connotations! Though I was surprised it wasn't Ethos. I don't mind Evora.

I think the name will ultimately become synonymous with the car and it wont matter a jot. Evora does not really mean anything to most people and carries little baggage. Lets face it Elise was the name of Artioli's granddaughter.

The Portuguese city is pronounced with the stress on the first E (Evora) whearas they pronounced it on the O (evOra), don't know if that is deliberate. I've been to Evora, interesting historical place. There is a very unusual chapel entirely made out of human remains where you're meant to contemplate death, which is weird, called the Capela dos Ossos (chapel of bones). I think the name is better than Ethos, although will this start a trend for naming cars after towns? Lotus Exeter? Lotus Epping?

Not really interested in the background but thank god its not Eagle!

Evora sounds better the more you get used to it.

hated it at first but like it now and as I see the car and logo and its name together more and more it makes more and more sense smile Good choice IMO.

Makes the car sound like a black project from the skunkworks of lockheed martin biggrin

Evora is a good name. Never would have guessed it though. Ethos or Eagle would not have suited it all!

Evora is better than Eagle I suppose but maybe should have removed the 'o' and called it Evra as it's rolls off the tongue better.

Then no Chelsea, Liverpool or Arsenal fans would want to buy one:

I sent the website link to my dad who's also car mad. His reply was:

"Great car, cr*p name. At least if it all goes wrong they can call it the Bloody Nora"

So there's another independent vote I guess!

Bad name. Just doesn't sounds right. If I bought one I'd rip the stupid badge off the dash for a start!

It's neutral, has no major significance and will end up being 'the car from Lotus', which is pretty ideal. I think it was Ford who did some great research that discovered that car names ending in 'a' are more successful, though I can't remember why. The only downsides are that for some it'll be the Elvira, and I just can't get the Ki-ora advert out of my head.

Yep shocking name, if I get one I will specify that the badges are taken off except for the Lotus badge. It just sounds like vic reeves crossed with female 'bits'. Its beyond terrible and means nothing, eagle was bad but better than Evora! But... The car is growing on me, except for the back and its slightly odd stretched look, who knows in six months...
