im litterally undecided, and fancy buying one tonight for no good reason other than I need one in my life with FIFA 08...
baring in mind, the Xbox's are cheaper, but HD DVD is now outdated where as ps3s are dearer but they have the current blue-ray.. The game sI would want are for both...
im just concerned that microsoft would pull the plug on the xbox to bring sometihng better out sooon...
SO which do I get... grrrrrrrrrrrr

PS3 - best value way to get into BluRay (supports Profile 2.0). Much, much quieter than the XBox. Feels better nailed together. Has a web browser built in (PH on your TV). There are less decent games than the XBox, but they are getting better (GT4 Prologue...). Oh, and did I mention that it's quieter than the XBox.
xbox every time.
blu ray is overrated. we never complained about video but then dvd came along. we never complained about about dvd but now blu ray is here. i am happy watching videos still, doesn't detract from my enjoyment of the content of the film...
xbox is a lot cheaper, live actually has people playing and is stable and fast.
who needs a web browser on a console? don't we all have pcs? web browser is clunky, have to scroll a lot to see the whole screen, just use a pc!! it's the same with phones - why the hell does anyone want to browse the web on their phone, other than because they've been told it is the new cool thing to do..

Basically it depends what your looking for, i own both and prefer the Xbox. The PS3 is good for the blueray discs but shocking for games. Grand Turismo prologue is a bit of a let down to be honest and the only other game i've got is the formula one game. The controller has barely changed on the ps3 but does have triggers on the back for racing games (although there about as useful as graham norton being the last man alive). Basically if you like you racing games, decent online playand a wide range of games get the xbox. I can't fault it, the ps3 though is very close to be taken back so i can have the cash to spend on something i use rather than just matching the colour of my tv. To be fair a football game will be equally as good on either.
I prefer the 360 but will soon get a ps3 purely for the blu ray. I see what someone above has written about it being pointless however imo the picture from a blu ray on a full hd set is incredible, i just wouldn't pay the £20 per disc but will rent or buy secondhand until the prices are sensible.
Cant stand the ps3 controllers myself.

I did buy a rambo on blueray the other day and was amazed by the picture quality. Does seem to be slighly better than HD dvd but the old standard xbox does not run on 1080p like the ps3 does. But as far as im aware all new 360's. Another thing to mention with the ps3 is that some games need to be installed which can take a while aswell as the system updates quite often. Which takes ages each time, a difficult console to play casually sometimes. Xbox do update games but it generally takes around 2 minutes but updates are not often.
PS3
It works, it's quiet, plays BD, upscales DVD, better interface, easy to plug in a huge HDD, better media centre.
360
It overheats, RROD, disgustingly noisy, no BD, no DVD upscale, Fisher Price interface, can't upgrade HDD, restricted as a media centre, everything is an optional extra.
Purely as games machines there's nothing in them, the quality is the same.
I've all 3 current consoles, when a game comes out I'll always buy the PS3 version.

Bah! The HDD is upgradeable and the interface is miles better than PS3. RROD is no big deal, they fix it free of charge in under two weeks. Like an Alfa Romeo of game consoles to the Nissan Almera PS3.It works, it's quiet, plays BD, upscales DVD, better interface, easy to plug in a huge HDD, better media centre.

It should be noted that PH is decidedly 360 biased!
Steve Evil... where are those global week on week sales charts?
Oh yes that's a good indication of which one's better! By your rationale Mariah Carey is the greatest music act in history.
Steve Evil... where are those global week on week sales charts?b) Most PHers concede, that PH is very 360 biased.
IV) I dont give a rats genital wart what others use, either way.
δ) The sales charts provide very interesting reading, no more.
4b) Despite preferring the PS3, Id recommend a 360 to most people.
Xbox 360 was what I went with, and still would today.
Head to head the graphics are usually slightly better on Xbox. Check out head to head videos on IGN and decide for yourself.
Xbox is easier to develop for, hence the games are more likely to be developed on PC and 360, then ported over to PS3 (usually rushed towards the end of development). PS3 has free online play as far as I'm aware? Xbox is plagued by reliability problems (with the exception of the later Elite) caused by overheating. I've never had a problem with my Xbox 360 in three years. Wether thats because I used to store it side up, or because I don't use it much, who knows? Most people I know have suffered the dreaded three rings of death. But Microsoft seem to have owned up to the fact there is a problem, and are addressing it with extended warranties etc
Blueray? Personally I prefer standalone players for my AV needs.
