Just like to say a massive thanks to Grahame and all the team at Plans Motorsport. Had a fantasic day up there!

Excellent job done on the car and the driver training was brilliant.

I managed a 1.35.9 on the legendary top gear track after doing 7 laps of it with Graham giving me instruction from the passenger seat and I've also got a DVD of me trying to be the Stig that I keep watching. I manged to match the same time as a guy called Max Ferrari in the same model of car, he's one of the drivers in the Britcar championship so I'm quite made up with that.

It's so different to driving it to actually watching it on Top Gear. I Had a couple of interesting moments on the track whilst learning it. One was coming up to Bacharach at over 100 mph then accidentally trailbraking into the corner sending us sideways at quite some speed, managed to catch it though whilst Graham's had a cheeky smile stuck on his face. The other little moment was a trailing throttle incident coming up to the the follow through but I managed to catch it and power out of it and was always flat out through the follow through. The gap between the tyres and the apex is VERY small biggrin

Struggled quite a bit with the Crooner Curves corner at the beginning of the track. You can't see the apex coming into it so have to trust judgement and you end up breaking as if you're going to head straight into a field which was very strange.

Chicago is quite hard to get right and you carry the speed from that down towards the hammerhead.

It's a very good track and lot's of fun. I'd recommend people going there!

Also saw some caterhams getting abused, possibly by the top gear lot and some converitble mclaren SLR's having their 'shakedown' on the runway before they get given to the owners... biggrin

Most definitely going back there for the next service and hope to get back out on the track to better my time.

Took some photo's during the daytime so hope you enjoy them!

Cheers,

Andy :up
