Hi

Anyone got any pointers on a Prowler purchase? any things in particular to look out for on them over & above the usual mechanical areas?

Have hunted around for a buyers guide but cant find anything anywhere frown

I suspect there must be a forum in the US for them somewhere. That'd be your best bet. Or look for an owners club.

Having said that, I guess you won't have much choice so just buy on condition. Give it a really good look over and maybe an inspection.

there is a LARGE amount of info on buying PP's on the WWW - a thriving club scene and full pointers on what to look out for etc etc

obviously all US based but for research purposes you couldn't ask for better

Generally, look for an underpowered V6. Check!
Otherwise look out for acres of peeling chrome on the wheels. Check!

I was once tempted by one of these but all the reviews I read said they weren't very good. I saw a couple at shows and they are a little on the large side and if short, I'm fairly sure it's hard to see out of the back but maybe I imagined that.

I've seen a silver, yellow and purple one and the purple looks best.

Think I've only ever seen them in met purpley red.

Have to say if I wanted a rod this is where I'd go (or something similar anyhow):

Must be the same one I photographed in 2001 then - see above link when it had chrome wheels at Drayton Manor.
