Well I'll kick off with my suggestion - S2000. Superb car, had mine for 6 months and no regrets. Have a look here for a few others singing its praises:

Happy hunting.

It'd be rude of me not to jump in with a recommendation for an NSX ;-)

yes r33 gtr. or r33 gts-t for less money and RWF (Rear Wheel Fun). Then spend the change on tuning it up.

Out of your choices I'd go for a Supra TT or the M3 Evo E36. Not too sure about the GTV, even in 3.0 V6 guise. Although it's a very accomplished car, I think it doesn`t have much poke to keep you entertained ...

I like Hondas and think the S2000 is a very good all round package, (electirc roof and aircon plus the screaming Vtec). Went in a blast in TRACKDEMONS NSX this weekend and if you can stretch to that in the future, you'd also be a very happy man!

Just seen an Imprezza P1 in the Auto Trader for 16k, and that's got me really thinking! But come on fellas, let thrash out the pro's and con's of a Supra, Skyline, M3EVO, Griff, S2000 (saw one in a rag for 15k) and anything else we can collectivly think of!

If your pushing to 16k, then an NSX is only another thousand or so away.

Obviously I'm biased, but I've never had a better car.

Used to have an M3EVO, (no really I hear you cry), anyway, it was a 1998 coupe with the SMG 1 fitted and to be honest out of all the cars I test drove before putting my money where my mouth was, it was the best of everything. Be warned now, if you go this way, to buy a car with a BMW WARRANTY. Do not even think about one without as I found out when my VANOS was not covered by the Mickey mouse warranty that came with the car (£1600). Anyway, the wife and I toured round Europe last year to Italy in it and it didnt miss a beat. Great noise from the exhaust, superb acceleration, top end, reliability and 36mpg overall!! At the time I tested a speed six Cerb, 450 Chim, RB5 Impreza, Mitsi EVO 6 and the Beemer came out the best value. Now they are even better value at around £12500 for a good-un. During my ownership I had an urge to try an S2000 as a possible replacement, along with a Lotus Elise S2. Now when I was taken out in the S2000, the salesman just wanted to floor the damn thing. I was more interested in the ride and handling in comparison to the BMW. The S2000 seemed a lot more taut in the chassis and less body roll, but these are traits of the M3 which allow the chassis to settle into a bend. The upshot of this is that the ride was compromised and I found it severely harsh over bumpy surfaces. The engine was very revvy, which is great if you scream the nuts out of it all of the time. If you want to overtake at 70, drop from 6th to third and floor it. The car has no midrange whatsoever. When I got back in the BMW on the way home the smile was repainted on my face. It felt like the Millenium Falcon in comparison. Besides there is no way a 4-pot could ever match the sound of a straight six. The BMW has half a McLaren F1 engine. FACT.

Just my 2p worth

PS The TVR's were to unreliable and costly to run and the Scoob and Mitzi didnt have the soul.

Are you selling it by anychance? I would love one, and was offered a test drive in one about 6 months ago, I declined 'cos I would have bought it and cancelled the wedding!

I am indeed, your welcome to come and have a look if you want, all the details are in the PH classifieds.

Trooper, I spoke to the wife, she's put her foot down and said she wants to move first, but I can do whatever the hell I like after we move. So I think we are talking a good year yet, shame as yours sounds really nice, thanks for the offer of a looksee, are you coming to the Leighton Buzzurd meet on the 22nd?

I am, but I'll be in the golf most likely...

Mileage is creeping up on the NSX and as it's for sale I don't want it to go over the 100k mark. Apparently that matters to some people even though it's a Honda...
